(NYSE: ROK), the world's largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, today announced it will work with Tien Yuen Machinery (TYC), to implement the Plex Cloud Manufacturing Execution System (MES). TYC, a leading Taiwanese professional engineering chain manufacturer, will be the first company in Taiwan to implement Plex. This initiative will help TYC enhance its digital capabilities, accelerate smart manufacturing, and boost its global competitiveness through cloud technologies.
The machinery industry serves as the foundation of industrial development, with power transmission systems functioning as its heart, playing a critical role in driving mechanical operations. As the global wave of smart manufacturing intensifies, Taiwan’s machinery industry is actively embracing digital transformation, aiming to achieve automation and visualization within traditional production processes to enhance market competitiveness.
Established in 1955, TYC is one of Taiwan’s largest industrial chain manufacturers, supplying power transmission and conveyance products to over 30 countries across the manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation sectors. Traditionally, TYC relied on customized manufacturing management systems tailored to specific customer needs. However, this approach constrained the company’s scalability and digital advancement. To enhance production efficiency and quality management, TYC has adopted Rockwell Automation’s Plex cloud-based Smart Manufacturing platform, strengthening its digital and information management capabilities at its manufacturing site.

The Plex Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is cloud-native at its core, enabling production lines to access real-time manufacturing data, optimize and track production scheduling, and manage raw materials and inventory, significantly improving overall operational performance. This collaboration focuses on key shop-floor management systems, including Quality Management Systems (QMS), equipment maintenance, and mold management. With these implementations, TYC is transitioning its production lines to paperless management, gaining full visibility and control over each stage of the manufacturing process. This enhances process transparency, traceability, and quality stability. Additionally, the scalability of Plex MES allows seamless integration with IoT devices, further optimizing the plant-wide information infrastructure.
